Led four goals from Matt Moore, Virginia took an early lead and held off defending champion Yale to win its first NCAA lacrosse title since 2011.

Virginia rallied late and scored in double overtime to upend Duke and advance to the NCAA title game, where it will face defending champion Yale.

Penn State had never won an NCAA tournament game, but the Nittany Lions are now the overwhelming favorite to win the lacrosse title.

Virginia won the national title and also is No. 1 the final men’s basketball poll. Texas Tech, Michigan State, Duke and Auburn complete the top five.
